2. MATTERS ARISING

STATE OF ROAD FROM CHACOMBE TO WARDINGTON AND LOWER DAWKINS JUNCTION

The Parish Council are still extremely concerned at the dangerous state of this road and junction and feel that OCC highways responses have been slow and inadequate. As no further work will be done until the A361 re-opens council will be following this up with then at all levels to try and ensure that work is carried out quickly and safety issues at the junction are addressed.

3. QUEENS DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS 2012

Ideas for a community event or commemorative item were discussed. Clerk is going to look into the possibility of a metal village sign with a design selected by competition for parish children. Clerk and Chair to look into possibility of a community event in early June 2012.

4. PROJECTS UPDATE – PROGRESS/CONSERVATION AREA

Works now finished at the Old POOL Area.
Area to be coned/taped off to protect whilst grass grows.

5. A361 FLOOD ALLEVIATION SCHEME

Clerk is organising first visit to see the works as offered by the environment agency and as this is full to explore whether further visits possible.

6. PLAYGROUND

The 200 club draws for June and July were made. Results of draws: –
Special June draw with extra prize: 1st prize £50 S Atack, 2nd prize £25 M&H Patterson, 3rd prize £10 Z Morgan.
July draw: 1st prize £20 N&H Cook, 2nd prize £10 Z Morgan.

7. POLICE NEIGHBOURHOOD ACTION GROUP (NAG)

Mr Patterson agreed to take Mrs Wild’s place on the group as she is no longer able to attend meetings. Next meeting will be on 30th June.

8. ANY OTHER BUSINESS

NEW VILLAGE WEBSITE www.wardington.net

A new village website has very kindly been developed by Mr Andrew Steven. It was agreed that this would take over from the existing village website written and maintained by the Clerk. Mrs Wild and Clerk will liaise with Mr Steven about promoting, maintaining and adding to the site.

PARISH BUS SERVICE PROVIDED BY GEOFF AMOS

Concerns discussed again with Geoff Amos about financial viability of the service due to impact of reduction in reimbursement level for accepting bus passes. It is hoped to confirm that the new route via Cropredy and the Bourtons will continue after the A361 re-opens but as majority of users are pass holders financial viability of the route is still in question. Parish council is concerned about future of the service and will continue to liaise with Cllr Atack and all relevant authorities.
