On Friday, 3rd May, with some one hundred people from the village present, Lady Wardington declared the Memorial Hall open. This followed a round of applause after Trustee Chairman, Clive Hunt, had declared that “but for her very significant donation the re-build would not have been possible and we would still be without a hall”.
