Those in the village who have papers currently delivered by John Pennock will be aware that he is retiring with effect from Saturday, 27th February. He has not either formally sold or handed on his round.

I have met this morning with Smiths Newsagents (no relation to WH!) who deliver newspapers widely in the Banbury area and are prepared to deliver to former customers of John’s in Wardington and Williamscot.

Full details: Smiths Newsagents, 5 Beaumont Business Centre, Beaumont Close, Banbury, OX16 1TN (behind Karcher). Tel: 01295 268499. E-mail: info@smithsnewsagents.co.uk. Contact: Robert (supported by Guy). Office hours: 3.00am – 11.00am. Deliveries will be around 6.00am (a little later at week-ends!).

If you wish to take up their service with effect from 28th February, Robert will require your address, tel no and newspaper order either by phone or e-mail as soon as practical. Accounts will be sent out four/five weekly and can be paid by cheque or internet transfer (bank details will be on the account). Times and Telegraph tokens are handled in the usual manner.

If I can help with any further general information please let me know.

Clive.
