A white van, registration number WM04FGP was seen taking scrap from behind Chelmscote Row without permission. When challenged the two young gentlemen did replace the items taken and weren’t impolite, however they were taking items without permission and residents should be aware.
Is the image on this post not a little bit extreme? Perhaps a neighbourhood watch sign image might have been better placed here?
Our website not only acts as a community information page, but also as an advert to the village and can aid those selling/buying/renting houses etc. I worry that images like this may scare and put off visitors to our generally safe, friendly and lovely community?
Just a thought,
Sam
Sam,
You may well be right! But it did get your attention, and it is very important that we look out for eachother’s property. There has been a spate of very serious lead thefts from church roofs in surrounding villages, including Thenford church a few weeks ago, and thieves collecting scrap need to be watched very carefully.
I will try and find a slightly more gentle image for next time.
All the best,
Andrew
