370th ANNIVERSARY GUIDED BATTLEFIELD WALK
BATTLE OF CROPREDY BRIDGE 1644
Anthony Rich TD and Harvey Watson of The Battlefields Trust host linked but different morning and afternoon walks exploring the battlefield of Cropredy Bridge. The battle is one of the last major Royalist victories of the Civil War and can be seen as the birthplace of the modern British Army.
The morning walk will start at the Information Panel on Cropredy Bridge, at 10.30a.m. visiting the Southern section, planning to return by 1.00 p.m.
The afternoon walk will start outside The Red Lion Pub (next to the Village Church in Cropredy) at 2:15 p.m. visiting the Northern section, planning to return by 5.45 p.m.
The walk follows public rights of way and roads crossing fields, stiles, and ditches. It may be muddy and livestock, including cattle, may be encountered. Stout footwear and weatherproof clothing is essential.
Adult participants are invited to make a donation on the day of £10 to the Trust for either or both walks (free to Trust members)
Places are limited so pre-booking for either or both walks is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.
