Zen and the art of community maintenance

This Saturday, 2pm, the launch of the community led plan questionnaire in the Wardington Memorial Hall, with free tea and cakes! The community led plan is  a method of "preventive maintenance" where we identify concerns early and address them. Maybe you are concerned by litter, housing, safety, noise or just want the right social events? This is how we intend to find everyone's concerns and, with your help, fix them before they grow. Curry Goat at the Table-top Sale

15th March 2014 sees the Spring Table-top Sale in the Memorial Hall. Dom and Helen are livening things up with homemade curry goat on sale to take away. Banish the winter blues with a taste of the Caribbean.

Wine Tasting – Final Call!

If you've not already booked tickets for Friday night's "Call My Wine Bluff" in the Memorial Hall, please call Steve Mackenzie-Lawrie or Philippa Hunt as soon as you can to reserve tickets. The Friends “Call My Wine Bluff” Evening, Fri 28th Feb.

Tickets are selling fast for this popular event. To secure your tickets, please call Philippa Hunt on 758087 or Steve Mackenzie-Lawrie on 758369. Held in the Memorial Hall, the evening is a relaxed and fun quiz and tasting followed by a home-made cottage pie supper. Open to all, this is a chance to meet old friends and make new ones. Ticket prices have been once again held at £18. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Please come and support The Friends of St Mary Magdalene and have a great evening out.

22nd March: Free tea, cakes and chinwag for CLP questionnaire

Come and help make our wonderful village an even better place by joining us in the village hall at 2pm on 22nd March! Do you think we should  invite more housing, focus on parking problems, campaign for gas or concentrate on dog-litter? Your view counts! The community led plan steering committee will be: Handing out the questionnaires, which will be used to make plans about the village. Giving out free tea and cakes. Holding a £25 prize draw to one luck person who collects their questionnaire. Describing the purpose of the questionnaire. Answering any questions you have. Call My (Wine) Bluff 2014

The Friends of St. Mary Magdalene are pleased to announce that the very popular Call My (Wine) Bluff will be returning once again on Friday February 28th. Supported by SH Jones of Banbury, there will be six wines on the night: A glass of something to welcome you, which will be the first bluff, followed by two white wines and three red wines. Everyone will then form teams of 5 or 6, ready for the competition to begin! Each of the wines will be described by three "bluffers", but only one will be telling the truth. Weather forecast for this Friday…………..Sunshine on Leith

Welcome a respite from the current miserable weather? This Friday evening (7th Feb) at the Memorial Hall - Wardington Cinema are screening 'Sunshine on Leith'..............a 2013 British musical directed by Dexter Fletcher. It is an adapation of the hit stage show of the same name feature songs by the Proclaimers. Writing a four star review in The Observer, Mark Kermonde said "I shed a tear within the first 10 minutes and spent the rest of the movie beaming like a gibbering, love-struck fool."
