Table Top Sale and Jumble Sale

Hopefully Spring is just around the corner and now is the time for a clean-up and turn out of your cupboards.  Here is a chance to sell some of those unwanted items which may be just what someone else is looking for. On Saturday 15th March there will be a table top and jumble sale in the Memorial Hall from 2pm to 4pm. Tables can be booked in advance for £5 by contacting Anne Wilkins on 758167 or 07951794994. First published draft of community led plan questionnaire is out, progress!

At our meeting in December we agreed to release a first draft of the questionnaire for the community led plan. We are hoping to have feedback from the parish council, from Williamscot and from Coton. Wardington Village Cinema – 7th February

The next film night in the Memorial Hall is taking place on the evening of Friday 7th February. We will be screening 'Sunshine on Leith'  - Released in 2013, Dexter Fletcher directs a jubilant, heartfelt musical about the power of home, the hearth, family and love. It is the tale of one tight-knit family, and the three couples bound to it, as they experience the joys and heartache that punctuate all relationships. And they do it all while singing to the euphoric music of the folk-pop band The Proclaimers. Wardington Village Cinema – film night tonight!!!

To continue with regular film nights in the Memorial Hall during the autumn and winter months - this evening (Friday 3rd January), Wardington Village Cinema will be screening 'Argo' which received in 2013, an Oscar for best picture and a BAFTA for best film. Doors open at 7.15pm and the film commences at 8.00pm. Tickets can be purchased on the door (£6.00 standard and £4.00 concessions). All proceeds to the up-keep of the Memorial Hall Please bring your own drinks and nibbles.  Complimentary choc-ice during the interval!!

Further to earlier notices - to continue with regular film nights at the Memorial Hall, Wardington Village Cinema are screening 'Argo' (certificate 15) an exciting thriller.........."acting under the cover of a Hollywood producer scouting a location for a science fiction film, a CIA agent launches a dangerous operation to rescue six Americans in Tehran during the US hostage crisis in Iran." URGENT – CAROLS CHANGE OF VENUE TO VILLAGE HALL

Sadly the weather forecast is for heavy rain at 6pm once again this year. We will therefore move the annual Carols on the Green to the Village Hall. We will start at 6pm and mulled wine, mince pies and hot sausage rolls will be served throughout. Please tell your friends and neighbours to come to the village hall instead.

Carols on the Green – reminder

Don't forget that Carols on the Green in Upper Wardington are next Thursday, 19th December from 6 to 6:45pm. Come and join us for mince pies and sausage rolls, mulled wine and hot chocolate. The Wardington Hand Bell Ringers will be coming again this year and our regular brass players, the Mackenzie-Lawrie boys will be with us as usual. We will be collecting for the Friends of St. Mary Magdalene so please bring along all of your loose change and give as generously as you can. Our church costs over £1,000 per month to keep going and we really need your support in looking after this wonderful building in the heart of our community. Even if you're not a church-goer,

Progress on community led plan questionnaire

Our questionnaire is taking shape and looking "proper" now. We should be in a position to release it for the parish council to review before Christmas.
