A comedy sports drama directed by Dexter Fletcher and inspired by the true life story of Michael Edwards or 'Eddie the Eagle', Britain's most famous ski jumper. HS2 Action Group – House of Lords Select Committee Hearing

HS2 ACTION GROUP House of Lords Select Committing Hearing - July 20th 2016 Location:12:25pm, Houses of Parliament. Present: Committee:, Charles Holbech ,Malcolm Patterson,  Bob Jarrett . The hearing began with Charles Holbech giving a summary of the petition: There would be 1,000 HS2 HGVs and 204 LGVs through Wardington daily. That represented two per minute in a 10 hour period, and this would seriously affect the quality of life in Wardington.  He outlined that the volume of HGVs using the A361 is to carry spoil from Greatworth and Turweston, for use at Lower Boddington, a distance of 27 miles. Wardington would not cope with this volume of traffic and it would be unsafe. Following the Commons Select Committee report and

Dad’s Army Film and Barbecue – Confirm your attendance now!

If you plan to attend Wardington Village Cinema's end of season spectacular event this Saturday, please let either Sam Young (01295 750871) or Paul Bimson (01295 758855) know as soon as possible, so we can ensure enough burgers and ice-creams can be bought. The evening starts at 7pm with a Barbecue and a chance to socialise before the the film "Dad's Army" is screened at 8pm.  There will be a half time interval with free ice-creams and a raffle!  

House of Lords Select Committee on HS2

Charles Holbech will be presenting to the House of Lords Select Committee on HS2 on behalf of Wardington tomorrow, Wednesday 20th July 2016. If you wish to watch the proceedings they will be shown on Parliament.tv here: http://goo.gl/DdSjPW. Wardington is scheduled 5th on the agenda and proceedings start at 10:00am and again at 2:00pm. It is likely, given the experience of the House of Commons Select Committee hearing, that Charles will be on after lunch, however this will only become clear on the day. The video of proceedings should be online for some time after the event and we expect that the above link will continue to work for those who can't watch live.
