Carols on The Green – Monday 21st Dec 6pm

CAROL SINGING IN WARDINGTON - REMINDER The Friends of St. Mary Magdalene, Wardington, are pleased to announce that we will once again be staging our festive sing-song: In Upper Wardington on the Old Pool Green on Monday 21st December 2015 6.00pm – 6.45pm Carols around the brazier Mulled wine, mince pies and hot sausage rolls. We will be accompanied by the Wardington Hand-Bell Ringers   Song sheets of well-known carols will be available. Please bring along a torch and join us in celebrating the festive season.   We will be collecting money for the Friends of St Mary Magdalene to help look after our beautiful church. Wardington Village Cinema – THIS FRIDAY!

Wardington Village Cinema is starting again for a new season of films. This month we will be showing the comedy "The Second Best Marigold Hotel" which has an all-star cast including Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel and Richard Gere! Check in again for more love and laughter for this heartwarming sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel! Now that his first venture has been proven successful, ever-confident Sonny (Patel) is busy juggling plans for a second resort... as well as his own wedding.  But his efforts are constantly hampered by hilarious complications, and in order to pull it all together, he'll need a little help and encouragement from his resident friends. Harvest Supper 2015 – Sat. 3rd October

Tickets are selling very well for this year's Harvest Supper in the Memorial Hall at 7:30 pm on Saturday 3rd October. Harvest Supper Sat 3rd October at 7:30pm

The Friends of St. Mary Magdalene are once again pleased to be organising the annual Harvest Supper on Saturday 3rd October 2015 at 7:30pm in the Memorial Hall Tickets, priced at £10 for adults, £7.50 for OAPs and children, are available from Andrew & Ginny Steven on 01295 750765 or any other member of the Friends committee. Please join us for cottage pie followed by apple pie and cheese & biscuits. There will be a cash bar and raffle. “Ride & Stride”, Saturday 12th Sept, 10am – 6pm

The Annual Ride and Stride Event is taking place on Saturday 12th September between 10am and 6pm. This is a sponsored challenge organised by the interdominational Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust which support local churches, half of the sponsorship money goes to the nominated church and half to the Trust. People can help by either riding (cycling or horse riding) or striding (walking) to visit as many churches as they can on the day; or by sponsoring those taking part – including those on church duty! Wardington Flower, Produce & Craft Show at the Memorial Hall from 2:30pm on Sunday 13th September 2015 The Committee would like to extend an invitation to everyone to come along and join in, and especially to any new villagers or to people who may not have thought about entering before. The emphasis is more on friendly competition, meeting friends and enjoying a happy day, rather than being OTT on the serious side. Cricket fun afternoon Sunday 16th August

The Wardington sports field committee was formed with the aims to restore and maintain the playing field and revive the cricket team. Everyone who uses the field will be aware that efforts are being made to achieve this, and huge thanks goes to all those who have been working there and giving their time. We need to raise funds to purchase necessary equipment, pay bills and to maintain the field, so there will be a 6 a side cricket fun afternoon on the sports field from midday to 6pm on Sunday 16th August.  The attached photos show some of the teams who have played over the years, and will be available to look at on the day.
