The Lady in the Van – Only a few tickets left

This Saturday (March 19th) Wardington Village Cinema will be Screening "The Lady in the Van" - Alan Bennett's big screen comedic adaptation of his own iconic memoir, starring Dame Maggie Smith. There has been a lot of interest for this film, so if you plan to attend ensure you reserve a ticket without delay, by calling Paul Bimson (01295 758855) or Sam Young (01295 750871). Doors open at 7.15 pm at the Memorial Village Hall, the film will start promptly at 8.00 pm.  There will be a half time interval with free ice cream and a raffle (Raffle prize donations are gratefully accepted). Tickets - £6 Standard, £4 Concessions.

Village Defibrillator

Thanks to fundraising by the Hare & Hounds, the defibrillator has now been supplied and installed at the village Memorial Hall. Training in its use is planned for Saturday, 6th February at 10am. Spaces are limited to 20 so please book in with Andrew Pearson – 07917554183 / andrewpearson@cch-uk.com

2015 Poppy Appeal

Many thanks to everyone who gave so generously this year to the Poppy Appeal. The total reached by Wardington, Williamscot and Chacombe was £1,302.25 (a record amount) with £168.65 coming from the Church collection. Elf at Wardington Village Cinema this Friday 18th December – Doors open earlier than usual at 6.45pm

This is a reminder that we are screening Elf at Wardington Village Cinema this coming Friday (18th December). Please do join us for this wonderful festive family film for all ages, please note the earlier than usual start time (doors open 6.45 pm for a 7.30 pm) which it is hoped will encourage younger villagers to attend. Mulled wine and Mince Pies will be served prior to the start of the film, included in the ticket price of £7.50 (£5.50 concessions). This is a Tom cat who has taken up residence outside the back door of Sundial House, Upper Wardington. Pam Jones(Forbes) says: "He is a very friendly old Tom, but he is scaring our resident cat, who is spending much of his time cowering indoors or insisting on exiting the house via the front door to avoid the sentry by the back door! "We don't know where he has come from, but we have seen him from time to time over the past year or so.
