Wardington’s very own Ruth Tuthill is running a marathon around the lanes to raise money for MIND. Please support Ruth by cheering her on as she runs through the village (twice) on the 19th December and if you are able, please consider supporting her fund-raising effort: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RuthTuthill
Ruth says:
On the 19th December I plan to run a marathon… as the first lockdown began [my daughter] Florence was set some running challenges: fastest 5k and 10k by Millfield Hockey department. I decided to join her and started running again – having a challenge, a focus really benefited me and I enjoyed getting fit. I subsequently listened to the Jasmin Paris podcast of the Spine race – WOW! I then read ‘Born to Run’ by Christopher McDougall and decided why not try… running, build up the kilometres and see how far I can go. I plan to run the marathon on my own, just around the lanes of North Oxfordshire, maybe a greater distance will follow in the new year.
As we enter the second lockdown, I am acutely aware of the negative impact COVID is having on people’s mental health, so I want to try and raise some money for Mind.
That’s brilliant- go Ruth!
