A361 Weekend road closure – 14-17 June.

Last weekend the work we did on the A361 went well and the road was re-opened on Sunday afternoon. The additional weekend road closure of the A361 has now been confirmed as:

8pm on Friday 14 June to 6am on Monday 17 June 2024

What we are doing

We are continuing to prepare the A361 in Chipping Warden for the permanent realignment of the highway over the Chipping Warden Green Tunnel.

In June we will be moving the utilities which run near and under the existing road, just north of the village. We will also be carrying out additional work in the verges of the A361. This is in preparation for the installation of safety barriers, which will allow our workforce to start building the new section of highway.

A section of the A361 will require two weekend closures to complete this work safely.

When will these works take place?
A361 weekend road closures:

  • 8pm on Friday 31 May to 6am on Monday 3 June 2024
    • 8pm on Friday 14 June to 6am on Monday 17 June 2024
    With a contingency weekend of 8pm on Friday 21 June to 6am on Monday 24 June 2024

This work is subject to approvals from the local authority and the dates of the work may change.
