HS2 - Notice of road closure for A361, final tie-in works Message from EKFB on behalf of HS2. Dates have now been confirmed for the road closures required for the A361 tie-in works.  This will involve two phases of road closures. Phase one – weekend closure between the roundabouts on the A361, Chipping Warden bypass on 8pm Friday 19 September until 6am Monday 22 September. This will complete the utility connections. Phase two - two-week road closure, with no access between Chipping Warden and Byfield from 8pm Monday 22 September to 6am Monday 6 October, 24 hours a day.  During this time, we will be working at 24 hours a day to complete some of the activities, please be aware that some additional lights will be required and

Message from EKFB on behalf of HS2. We are replacing the road signs leading towards the roundabouts on the A361, to reflect the new road layout ready for the realignment of the A361. To remove and replace the sign on Byfield Road, near the school, we will be working in the road carriageway while we complete this work. Next week the contractors will make a site visit and confirm that days and duration of the road closure required to complete this week. Message from EKFB on behalf of HS2 On the final weekend of the month, we need to close the A361, between the roundabouts on the relief road from 8pm Friday 29 August to 6am Monday 1 September.  This is to uncover the Gas main and join it to the new pipes, this will require overnight closures and could not be done at the same time as the other activities on 23 & 24 August. As part of this work, we need to excavate the area, for this we will be using a specialist piece of equipment called a vacuum extractor. Message from EKFB on behalf of HS2 On the weekend of 23 & 24 August, there will be a daytime road closure on the section of the A361 from Appletree Road to the roundabout, with the diversion on the old A361 through Chipping Warden village.  During the closure we will be completing some of the surfacing work required to join the new A361, which will take traffic over the Chipping Warden green tunnel, to the current road network at the roundabout. Message from EKFB on behalf of HS2 Notice of road closure A361, Chipping Warden 25-27 July A new road closure had been booked from 8pm Friday 25 July until 8pm Sunday 27 July 2025. This will be located outside the EKFB works compound, so there will be no through access from Chipping Warden to Byfield. As you may have noticed while driving past the area on the A361, we are well under way with building the new A361 highway towards the Chipping Warden green tunnel from the compound.  During this weekend road closure, we will remove part of the roadside surface and install concrete safety barriers to enable us to work closer to the road as work progresses.
