This year’s Call My Bluff Wine Tasting evening held at the Memorial Village Hall proved to be a huge success with a record-breaking number of attendees.

The evening was sponsored by local wine supplier North Oxfordshire Wine based in Little Bourton. This family run business provided 8 different wines for attendees to enjoy, together with a case of wines for the winning team and a generous donation of a fabulous raffle prize.
10 teams took part in the evening and featured three “bluffers” from the village, Catherine Jenkinson, Linda Ayers and Simon Gibbs each of them trying to persuade attendees that their description of the wine was the correct one for the wine being tasted.

The evening involved a lot of laughter, plenty of wine, a delicious supper of lasagne, followed by cheese and biscuits!

The teams were very competitive, and the banter humours and lively, the final result was very close, culminating in two teams coming joint first.
This year’s winners were the ‘It’s My dream’ Team led by George Martin who shared the limelight with ‘Last Year’s Champions Team’ led by James Wild.
The evening was a tremendous success and Mike White owner of Oxfordshire Wines has generously offered discounted prices on the wines that were tasted on the night together with those served with the supper.
