Your website

Wardington.net is your website, maintained for your benefit to keep you informed about events and items of interest in your community. The site gets an average of around 300 visits a month - not a lot given that there are over 200 households in our village - but visitor numbers are growing month by month. To encourage greater participation we have added a forum section to the site where you can post anything you like. There are three categories to start off with: General comments, Trades & Services and Buy & Sell. You may want more categories, if so let us know at news@wardington.net. Please do encourage your friends and neighbours not subscribed to the site to fill in the form in

The Plough pub – planning application

Further to the flyer that you may or may not have received through your door today informing you of a planning application to convert The Plough in Upper Wardington to residential use, the quoted planning application reference number is incorrect. The correct reference is 16/00367/F. Details can be found here: http://www.publicaccess.cherwell.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=O33II0EMH5300. I am posting this purely to correct an error. I have no idea who printed or distributed the flyer and I am not passing an opinion either way about the application.

Upper Edgcote

In view of the adverse publicity being generated by extensive media coverage of HS2 the residents of Upper Wardington had a meeting over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend where it was resolved to change the name of this part of the village to Upper Edgcote. A Rectification Application has been made to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and confirmation is anticipated in due course.
