On 27th September in the review of the Community Led Plan Questionnaire, it was identified (among many other points) that a number of submissions had indicated they would like it if a Wardington running club was set up. I too enjoy running as a form of fitness and although at the moment do not have the time to organise a Wardington running club as such, I thought it worthwhile to bring to the attention of those interested, the newly set-up Banbury parkrun. parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs in parks around the the country, and rely on volunteers to organise each event. They are open to everyone, are free, and are safe and easy to take part in.
A very warm welcome to all of our regulars and hopefully a few new faces too!!! For the screening this Friday we will be showing 'Waking Ned Devine'......................... Wardington Village Cinema – Friday 10th October The lucky winner of the national lottery is Ned Devine, so taken by his good fortune that he now can't be waked, because he died from the shock of it! News of the win spread quickly in the scenic little Irish village of Tully More, but not the secret news of Ned's demise. With lottery officials closing in to confirm the prize claimed by the deceased Devine, Ned's closest friends scheme to keep the prize money close to home, in memory of Ned of course!
Following an audience survey at the last screening, we are delighted to announce that the highly acclaimed comedy 'Waking Ned"scored the most votes and will be shown at the next film night - taking place in the Memorial Hall on the evening of Friday 10th October. When Ned Devine dies of shock after he discovers he has won the lottery, his life-long friends Michael (David Kelly) and Jackie (Ian Bannen) find the winning tcket and decide that their old mate would have wanted them to collect the money. They deduce that one of them must pass himself off as Ned. But they must convince the rest of the town to go along with their scheme, and they will need all the help
