The annual Christmas Charity Evening will be held at Barn Farm Plants, Garden Centre this coming Wednesday 27th November. 6.30pm-8.30pm in aid of Katharine House Hospice and Dogs for the Disabled. Entry £2 (16's and under FREE) Come and enjoy a festive evening with a glass of complimentary mulled wine, festive music, Christmas trees and wreaths, craft & gift stalls, tombola, cake stall and not for getting FREE visits to Father Christmas.- An evening not to miss!  

Wardington Village Cinema Success!

Saturday 9th November was film night at Wardington memorial hall! The inaugural Wardington Village Cinema evening screened the film “Quartet” to over sixty members of the community.  Professionally projected by Northamptonshire based “Big Country Rural Cinema Company”, the specialized equipment gave the big screen experience to all that attended and proved a great success. The social event, that is designed to bring the community together and maximize the use of the memorial hall, is planned to be repeated on a regular basis with the next screening already planned for Friday 3rd January – Watch this space for upcoming announcements of the film details. The Banbury Rural Neighbourhood Police Team are holding a FREE ‘Catalytic Converter Marking Day’ at the Firs Garage, Hook Norton on Saturday 16th November 2013 between 1000hrs and 1500hrs. We will etch your Catalytic converter with a unique serial number which means we can easily identify it if it is stolen. We will also provide you with a sticker to be displayed in your window indicating ‘CAT marked’ which prevents offenders targeting your vehicle. Please just turn up on the day! Wardington Waddlers – Off to a great start!

The Wardington Waddlers toddler group got off to an excellent start on Thursday, with a fantastic turnout from both Wardington and surrounding villages. We hope everyone enjoyed it and will join us again next week. Please help spread the word as we need all of your support to keep running. We need volunteers to help with setting up/putting away and teas/coffees. It would be on a rota so not every week! If you can help, please let us know. We are also looking for kind donations of unwanted toys (especially some ride-on toys) in good condition. If you are able to help, then please email Hannah or Gemma.

Our New Vicar Takes Up Her Post

Our new Vicar, Reverend Hilary Campbell, was formally licensed in a packed Cropredy Church on 1st October at a Service* of Collation, Induction and Installation. The Bishop of Dorchester, Right Reverend Colin Fletcher, officiated assisted by the Area Dean of Deddington Deanery, Revd Jeff West. The congregation was headed by the Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Tim Stevenson, as HM The Queen's representative along with our District Councillor, Ken Atack. The Revd Lynda Alcock supported the Bishop as his Chaplain. Clergy from many churches in the Deanery area were present as well as representatives of the Catholic and Methodist Churches. During the service, which was both ceremonial yet intimate, the Churchwardens of each of the five parishes in the Benefice presented Hilary with symbols of the ministry including water

Macmillan Coffee Morning

A lovely morning was had by all at Barn Farm Plants on Friday 27th September. £487 was raised for Macmillan. A big thank you to everyone who supported the event.
