Seasons Greetings from all at Wardington Village Cinema! We are excited to announce that the Wardington Village Cinema will start again on Friday 23rd January, screening the comedy "The Odd Couple"! We also have great news that the reverberation panels have now been installed, which will greatly enhance the quality of the sound in the Memorial Hall. A reminder to all Wardington residents and friends that this Saturday, 30th August, from 4 to 7pm, you are warmly invited to the Manor gardens for tea, hot dogs, cake and Pimms, all to raise money for the terrace at the rear of the Memorial Hall. There will be games for the children, and a raffle, so come and have fun and enjoy the wonderful gardens.
Wardington Village Cinema will be screening “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel“, An award-winning feel good film with an all-star cast, led by Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, and Maggie Smith! When seven cash-strapped seniors decide to "outsource" their retirement to a resort in far-off India, friendship and romance blossom in the most unexpected ways. Doors open at 7:30pm ready for 8pm start. There will be a mid film interval when free ice creams will be served. Please feel free to bring along your own food and drink to enjoy during the show. A very big thank you for the excellent support we have received from the community since the launch of the film nights earlier this year, where we have seen an average attendance of 40 and for the ‘Sunshine on Leith’ and ‘Quartet’ screenings, over 60 came along – which is fantastic !!! We are delighted to announce and following the summer break, we will resume the film nights in the Memorial Hall in the early autumn with a regular evening feature to take place on the 2nd Friday of each month with the first few dates confirmed: · Friday 12th September · Friday 10th October · Friday 14th November Doors open at 7.30pm and the film will commence at 8pm. Tickets are £6.00 for standard/£4.00 for concessions
Unfortunately, we have had to close the Wardington Waddlers Toddler Group. We have enjoyed running the group and meeting the parents, carers and little ones. If anyone wishes to take over the running of the group, please get in touch.
Just to remind you that there will be no toddler group this Thursday (22nd May), the hall is being used for Polling all day. There will also be no group next Thursday (29th May), but we will return on Thursday 5th and 19th June and the first and third Thursday of each month thereafter.

On 6th April 2014 Wardington Village Bowls Club held the Annual Short Mat Bowls Presentation Tournament, the finale of a fantastic 2013/2014 season and a day of social but competitive bowling. Representatives from the leagues six local village teams put forward players to take part in the end of season bowling event, fighting it out for honour and wine prizes. The event was kindly sponsored by Phillips Autos of Banbury. Moreton Pinkney receive the league cup from Wardington Club President Lady Wardington. A highlight of the day was Lady Wardington (President of Wardington Bowls Club) presenting the 2013/14 Season League Cup to this year’s winners Morton Pinkney, who won one of the closest fought seasons in many years.
