Village Fete and Evening Celebration: A Heartwarming Success!

On the 1st of June, our village came alive with the vibrant and joyous atmosphere of our Village Fete and Evening Celebration. The event was a resounding success, bringing together community members of all ages for a day filled with fun, laughter, and camaraderie. The fete featured a delightful array of activities that catered to everyone’s tastes. Stalls lined the village cricket field, offering a variety of goods and treats and activities. The air was filled with the sweet melodies of live music, creating a festive ambiance. Families enjoyed the bouncy castles, while others indulged in delicious tea and cake or participated in games or races. Fairport Convention’s Cropredy Festival – 8th – 10th August 2024

Three-day entrance permits are again available this year for Williamscot residents and children at the special price of £25 each. The monies will be allocated to the Williamscot Fund for the benefit of the village. Again, this year under 18 year-olds will have free admission, and those who are 18 years old and over will pay the special price of £25 per ticket.   (Please note that although children between the ages of 12 and 18 will have free admission, they will require an adult ticket which will count as one of the two tickets per household in the first instance) Fairport tickets are now available to Wardington residents, two per household, on a first come first served basis.    

Safari Supper raises over £600

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended the Safari Supper on Friday evening. The event raised a fantastic £640 for the St Mary Magdalene fabric fund, which helps maintain the Grade I listed church at the heart of our village. Thank you too to all those who generously hosted, made the delicious canapés and amazing puddings. The evening was great fun with new friends made and the Memorial Hall bar extremely well supported until last orders at 11pm. We'll be back in 2025 for another mid-summer Safari Supper!

The Safari Supper has now sold out.  The Friends of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Wardington are looking forward to seeing those who have booked on Friday 21st June 2024 in this very popular event, designed to provide an opportunity for villagers old and new to meet and socialise whilst raising funds to maintain our beautiful church. The evening will begin with a drinks reception in the churchyard where you will have the chance to meet your hosts and fellow guests. The programme for the evening is as follows: 7.00pm           Drinks and canapés at St Mary Magdalene Church provided by the Friends of St. Mary Magdalene, Wardington. 7.45pm            Main Course Supper with wine at the house of your allocated hosts.
