Wardington Village Cinema – next screening Friday 20th February

For your diary!!  The next film night is to take place of Friday 20th February in the Memorial Hall where we will be screening the hilarious British comedy........... "What we did on our holiday" staring Rosamund Pike, David Tennant and Billy Connolly. Doors open 7.30pm with the film to commence promptly at 8.00pm.  Concessions £4.00/Standard £6.00.  The ticket price includes a complimentary ice cream in the interval.  We will also be holding a raffle.  All surplus will go towards improving the Memorial Hall facilities. Start plans for our community

This Saturday (24/01/15) we will start creating the action plans that address the concerns in the community led plan questionnaire. This is your opportunity to help decide how the parish can be improved. We hope to see you at 4pm in the village hall for a short meeting where we will describe the process and form action groups. Your support is very welcome!

This Friday night is film night!!!

A gentle reminder that this Friday (16th)  is film night at the Memorial hall.  By popular demand - Wardington Village Cinema are screening 'The Odd Couple' starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Mathau. Doors open 7.30am - film commences at 8pm prompt. Please bring your own drinks and nibbles.  Complimentary ice creams will be distributed during the interval. Any surplus from the film nights is used to help with improvements to the village hall, however we do need at least 35 attendees to break even.  Many recent users of the hall may have noted the reverberation panels installed towards the end of November which have made a huge difference to the sound quality now experienced within the main hall. Results of Community Led Plan Questionnaire

Everyone should have had a paper copy of the results by now. If not, you can download an electronic version on this page https://wardington.net/committees/community-led-plan/. In 2015 we are starting to look at improvements and we will be holding our first meeting on 24th January 2015 at 4pm in the village hall. We will need people to come and take action! We hope to see you there.

STANNAH STAIRLIFT FOR SALE

A Stannah stairlift including the riser rail [ approx 12' in length] is for sale. It is currently in good working order and may be seen by arrangement. The seat cover appears tatty but in fact are two scorch marks created by inadvertently placing a hot vacuum cleaner on it; someone thrifty could easily knit or source one. It has a new battery [ for back up ] and new switches. It can swivel and has a seat belt for added safety. For sale at £500. Please contact Robert on 01295 750 202 or in person.

Wardington Village Cinema is back in January!

Seasons Greetings from all at Wardington Village Cinema! We are excited to announce that the Wardington Village Cinema will start again on Friday 23rd January, screening the comedy "The Odd Couple"!  So please let either Paul Bimpson or Sam Young know if you intend to come along, either by telephone (see poster for contact details) or via the Wardington Cinema email (wardingtoncinema@hotmail.com). We also have great news that the reverberation panels have now been installed, which will greatly enhance the quality of the sound in the Memorial Hall. Christmas Charity Evening

  The Annual Christmas Charity Evening at Barn Farm Plants, Garden Centre will be held on Wednesday 26th November. 6.30pm-8.30pm. Entry £2 (16's and under free) In aid of Katharine House Hospice and Dogs for the Disabled. Come and enjoy a fun evening, with complimentary mulled wine, craft stalls, festive music and FREE visits to Father Christmas. Plus the usual Christmas wreaths, decorations and gifts. There will also be a tombola and cake stall which will be raising funds for the church.
