CAROL SINGING IN WARDINGTON – Thurs. 20th Dec. 6pm

The Friends of St. Mary Magdalene, Wardington, are pleased to announce that we will once again be staging our festive sing-song: In Upper Wardington on the Old Pool Green on Thursday 20th December 2018 6.00 – 6.45pm Carols around the brazier Mulled wine, mince pies and hot sausage rolls. We will be accompanied by the Wardington Hand-Bell Ringers and song sheets of well-known carols will be available. Please bring along a torch and join us in celebrating the festive season. We will be collecting money for the Friends of St Mary Magdalene to help look after our beautiful church. Please give generously.

A361 Proposed 30mph Speed Limit Extension & Puffin Crossing

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make changes on the A361 Banbury Road in Wardington, the changes are for road safety reasons and to specifically help mitigate the expected increase in traffic (specifically HGVs) linked to the HS2 construction works: A361 Banbury Road: to extend the 30mph speed limit  northwest of the Hare & Hounds PH by 68 metres, in place of the current 50mph, and to install a Puffin crossing (signal controlled for use by pedestrians) approximately 75m* south of the southern junction of the unnamed road leading to Edgcote. * dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the feature. HS2 Presentation Evening – 5th December 2018

A HS2 Presentation Evening will take place: 5th December 2018 6 - 7.30 pm Wardington Parish Church Information boards and presentation by HS2 for the works being undertaken on the A361 through the village.

The Wardington Swifts: An Illustrated Talk on Swifts by Chris Mason

  Wardington Garden Club The Wardington Swifts: An Illustrated Talk on Swifts by Chris Mason Wednesday November 21 at 7.45pm Wardington Memorial Hall We are very lucky to have a thriving small colony of Swifts in Wardington.  Through good years and bad their numbers have been slowly increasing. Nationally they are threatened. Chris Mason is the Oxfordshire authority on these magnificent small birds.  Come and join us, everyone is welcome. Wine and soft drinks provided. There will be a small charge of £3 for non-Garden Club member.
