A361 Delayed Re-opening – Latest

We have received the following news bulletin from the Environment Agency with  a new date for the re-opening of the road.  This is not good news and we have made our feeling's known.  There was a meeting on Wednesday attended by District Councillor Atack and all parties concerned to sort out traffic arrangements for the Cropredy festival which will be going ahead.  Full details of these will be available soon. A361 Latest news Friday 15th July

We are still awaiting more news from the Environment Agency following their announcement last week of delays to the work on the A361 and are doing all we can to press for answers.  Changes are having to be made to the work already done regarding the width of the road.  No date is available for the re-opening of the road but it is likely that the work will continue until the end of the Summer.  Discussions are currently taking place between all parties as to how traffic will be managed for the Cropredy festival which will take place.  This is far from ideal but we will try and keep everyone informed as we receive more news. Oxfordshire highways have agreed

Kids barbecue Friday 15th July

There will be a kids' barbecue at Wardington Manor on Friday 15th July at 4:30 pm - this coming Friday. There will be Hot Dogs with Mumford's sausages and all kids from the village and their parents are very welcome. The swimming pool will also be open for the kids so bring along swimming kit if the weather's good enough. Parents please note that it's up to you to bring arm bands or other flotation aids as we can't be held responsible for children who can't swim! The food is free, but all donations towards the Village Hall will be very gratefully received. Anybody who is able to donate fruit, cakes and general pudding items, please bring them along.

Calling all bell-ringers

If you've ever wanted to have a go at bell ringing, now is your opportunity! One of our regular team has left meaning that there's now no cover for holidays or sickness. The team are therefore looking for a part-time volunteer to help out on occasion. Full details can be obtained from Rev. Pat Freeth at The Vicarage, Cropredy, OX17 1NG, tel 01295 750980, email pfreeth@toucansurf.com Whilst any volunteers are welcome to stay for the service, it's by no means a prerequisite so please don't think that you're signing up for every service as well!

It’s Official!
