Wardington Fete – Saturday 1st Sept.

Wardington Fete & Horticultural Show will be on Saturday 1st September from 2 - 5pm in the gardens of the Manor. Mrs Evelyn Phillips will open the fete at 2pm. Attractions include Horticultural classes, Morris Dancers, Bulb Stall, Cream Teas, Tombola, Games, Cake Stall, Pimms & strawberries. To raise money for Dogs for Good and the Memorial Hall. There will be a dog and handler from Dogs for Good at the fete. This year's fete is kindly sponsored by Mansion Hill Vets of Middleton Cheney. Download the poster here.  

Fairport Cropredy tickets

Three day entrance permits (80 in total) are again available this year for Williamscot residents and children (over the age of 12 years) at the special price of £40. Any surplus tickets after 30th June will be made available to Wardington residents, two per household, on a first come first served basis. Children under 12 years of age accompanied by an adult have free admission as advertised in the Warbler. If there are enough tickets still available after the 15th July, then the names of Wardington residents who have requested additional tickets will be allocated their reasonable residents request. If there is a shortfall in tickets required after the 15th July a draw will take place and the allocation made

HS2 Community: Drop-in sessions

HS2 COMMUNITY DROP-IN SESSIONS   We will be holding our first drop-in session at Chipping Warden Village Hall in May. This will be an opportunity to come and speak with members of the delivery teams (both from Fusion and HS2). We will be continuing to hold monthly drop-in sessions within the wider community to discuss the plans and developments of the scheme. Wine Bluff – Majestic Special Offer

Thanks to everyone who came to this year's Call My Wine Bluff on Saturday evening in the Memorial Hall. It was a really enjoyable evening with six delicious wines to taste, supplied by Majestic Wine in Banbury. The evening featured three "bluffers", Clive Hunt, Nigel Bankes and Matt from Majestic, each of them trying to persuade us that their description of the wine we were tasting was accurate. There were many laughs, much wine consumed and a very close result in the end. The winners by a single point were "The Snackers" comprising James and Caroline Wild and Mark and Deborah Page. The wine tasting was followed by a delicious cottage pie supper, cooked by The Friends committee members and
