Coronation celebrations, Saturday 6th May, from 5pm

Although there are no village-wide plans to celebrate the Coronation, there are gatherings in the village on Saturday 6th May from 5pm to toast our new King & Queen. If you wish to join in, please bring an umbrella, chair, picnic rug, children's tea, cake, sandwiches, a bottle / drink and some nibbles as you wish. Everybody is welcome, there is no formality, it's just a nice excuse for the community to get together. Gatherings are either on School Green (outside Clive & Philippa Hunt’s house, opposite the church) or near the Old Pool in Upper Wardington (where we have the carol singing), but not underneath the trees.  There will be bunting and good cheer, weather permitting! Going forward there will be a small cost (approx £3) to cover the hall hire cost and refreshments. There are some toys at the hall from previous groups, but feel free to bring a toy for your little one until we work out what is needed on a regular basis. Any questions, feedback, or want to get involved in

Captain Tom’s Flag by Roderick Stell

“Tomorrow will be a good day” is the expression of hope for the future which many of us associate with the late Captain Tom Moore. He caught the public’s eye when, one hundred years of age, he set out to raise some money for the NHS by walking round his garden with his Zimmer-frame, this was in gratitude for the care he received during a life-threatening illness.
