2015 Poppy Appeal

Many thanks to everyone who gave so generously this year to the Poppy Appeal. The total reached by Wardington, Williamscot and Chacombe was £1,302.25 (a record amount) with £168.65 coming from the Church collection. HS2 traffic video

During Tuesday evening's HS2 update meeting Charles Holbech referred to a video created by Sam Young showing the unsuitability of the A361 through Wardington to handle the volume of proposed construction traffic. We're pleased to be able to add this to the Wardington website. Thanks go to Sam Young for making this film.

Carols on The Green – Monday 21st Dec 6pm

CAROL SINGING IN WARDINGTON - REMINDER The Friends of St. Mary Magdalene, Wardington, are pleased to announce that we will once again be staging our festive sing-song: In Upper Wardington on the Old Pool Green on Monday 21st December 2015 6.00pm – 6.45pm Carols around the brazier Mulled wine, mince pies and hot sausage rolls. We will be accompanied by the Wardington Hand-Bell Ringers   Song sheets of well-known carols will be available. Please bring along a torch and join us in celebrating the festive season.   We will be collecting money for the Friends of St Mary Magdalene to help look after our beautiful church. Wardington Village Cinema Night is Going Ahead as Planned!! Doors open 6.45pm Tomorrow (Friday)

We are very pleased to announce that the Wardington Village Cinema Christmas special screening of Elf will be going ahead as planned! If you haven't let us know you are planning to attend, its not too late, there is plenty of space and payment is taken on the door (£7.50 Standard, £5.50 concessions).  Mulled wine and mince pies included in the price of the ticket. Elf at Wardington Village Cinema this Friday 18th December – Doors open earlier than usual at 6.45pm

This is a reminder that we are screening Elf at Wardington Village Cinema this coming Friday (18th December). Please do join us for this wonderful festive family film for all ages, please note the earlier than usual start time (doors open 6.45 pm for a 7.30 pm) which it is hoped will encourage younger villagers to attend. Mulled wine and Mince Pies will be served prior to the start of the film, included in the ticket price of £7.50 (£5.50 concessions). Christmas bin collections and opening hours

Residents are being advised of changes to Cherwell District Council’s bin collections and opening times over the festive period. Only bins due to be emptied on a Friday will be affected by the Christmas break, with those due to be emptied on Friday, 25 December (Christmas Day) taking place four days earlier on Monday, 21 December. The following week, collections due on Friday, 1 January (New Year’s Day) will also take place four days earlier on Monday, 28 December. All other collections will take place as normal.
