Wardington Garden Club AGM

Wardington Garden Club AGM 2019 The Club visits local gardens in the summer. We take part in the Fete at The Manor and have a visiting speaker in November. Our members represent all sizes and types of garden. Some are keen gardeners. Some just enjoy looking at gardens. Some just like spending an evening with local friends. All are welcome. Through good years and bad their numbers have been slowly increasing. Nationally they are threatened. Chris Mason is the Oxfordshire authority on these magnificent small birds. Come and join us, everyone is welcome. Wine and soft drinks provided. There will be a small charge of £3 for non-Garden Club member.

OFF-GRID exhibition finishing party 13th & 14th October

We are having a Finishing Party at Lockbund Gallery on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October from 11.30 am to 4.00pm. HS2 – Traffic Surveys

HS2 Traffic Surveys Please see attached link relating to Advance Works Notification for traffic surveys to be carried out by Atkins on behalf of HS2. HS2-Atkins-Highway-Condition-Surveys-October-2018 HS2 anticipate that the coring surveys will be mid October for a couple of days and the FWD surveys will commence beginning of November for approximately two weeks. Neighbourhood Watch – White van WM04FGP

A white van, registration number WM04FGP was seen taking scrap from behind Chelmscote Row without permission. When challenged the two young gentlemen did replace the items taken and weren't impolite, however they were taking items without permission and residents should be aware.

Gates down Church Walk

At the most recent Wardington Parish Council Meeting, Jan Funnell raised the problem of the gates down church walk (the pathway down the hill opposite the church.) On occasions the small, old, kissing gate has been taken off its hinges and has had to be replaced on its hinges. More importantly, further down church walk, on the left, a gate gives access to the field, but this gate does not give access to the field for walkers as it is not part of the public footpath. On occasions cattle have escaped because the gate has been left open. The chain and padlock installed to ensure the gate remains shut have been removed, again allowing the cattle to escape. There is
