NOTICE OF MAKING OF         PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981   The Oxfordshire County Council, Wardington Footpath No. 4 (part), Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2023 On 6th February 2023, the Oxfordshire County made the above Order under s119 of the Highways Act 1980. The Order, if confirmed, will divert the public path as described and shown in the Order. Parish Council objects to Cherwell DC Planning Application 22/01488/OUT

Reproduced below is a letter sent by Wardington Parish Council Chair, Malcolm Patterson, to Banbury MP Victoria Prentis. You are strongly encouraged to submit your objection, if indeed you do object, before the deadline of 30th June 2022.   Dear Victoria It was only last week that we heard about the planning application above. The opportunity to object closes in less than 3 weeks. It involves a further 100+ acre warehousing development off the A361 close to Junction 11 of the M40. We in Wardington and other local villages in North Oxfordshire and South Northants are very alarmed. It would be more accurate to say ‘horrified’. CHERWELL DISTRICT COUNCIL LOCAL PLAN REVIEW Deadline for Responses Wednesday November 10 Many people have sent in their responses to the proposed housing development in Wardington Reference LPR-A-175. If you haven’t done so yet please note the deadline. Whatever your views, they are important. As many responses as possible are also important for the 42 hectares (100+ acres) of land, east of the A361, being offered for commercial development close to Junction 11 Reference LPR-A-034. WARDINGTON OPEN MEETING TO DISCUSS CDC LOCAL PLAN REVIEW Thank you to all who attended Wednesday evening’s meeting. There were at least 70 of us there. The following is a summary of key points raised and action that can be taken. In response to a call in 2020 from Cherwell District Council (CDC) for land for development in the new Local Plan, a landowner in Wardington offered 2 areas. 4.6 hectares off The Greensward for 20 houses 10.8 hectares round Judges on the other side of the A361 for 5 houses The meeting was told that land offered as Change of Use, once accepted, was subject to CDC requirements of between 20 and 30 houses per hectare. Cherwell District Council Local Plan Review Developing our Options September 2021 At this stage the Review is part of a consultation process by Cherwell District Council. The Local Plan itself will be published next year. The Parish Council has arranged an Open Meeting to discuss the Review and the implications for the Parish, including the possibility of housing development. Latest News on HS2/Fusion Work in Wardington You are probably aware of the road widening taking place on the A361 near Old Bonhams corner. Other work on road widening will be carried out in February. This will result in single lane road closures controlled by traffic lights In the Spring there will be further work on the A361 at the North and South entrances to the village and by the Bus Stop. These will involve complete road closures. There will also be road closures at Chipping Warden at about the same time. Wardington Parish Council demanded a meeting with HS2/Fusion to discuss the impact of these closures. There were even rumours of the Stagecoach 200 bus service being suspended. At

HS2 – Fusion road works through Wardington to start

Information Notice   HS2 have informed us that Fusion are looking to start works on 30th October 2019.   There will be survey works initially and traffic management that will result in lane closures at off peak times.   Maps detailing the location of works and road closures have been uploaded on the Commonplace both for Northants and Oxfordshire: Information specific to Wardington is located in the Northants link.
