A361 CLOSED at Wardington 3rd-7th June 2018

Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice – S14 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Temporary Road Closure – Wardington, Banbury Road (A361) In the interests of public safety, it will be necessary for Oxfordshire County Council to close the road as detailed above in order to facilitate routine surface dressing. A temporary Notice is being made to implement the temporary closure and will operate from 03 June 2018. The anticipated completion date is 07 June 2018. Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for those frontages within the closure area, subject to the progress of the works and liaison with the works supervisor.   A copy of the drawing showing the extent of the closure. HS2 Community: Drop-in sessions

HS2 COMMUNITY DROP-IN SESSIONS   We will be holding our first drop-in session at Chipping Warden Village Hall in May. This will be an opportunity to come and speak with members of the delivery teams (both from Fusion and HS2). We will be continuing to hold monthly drop-in sessions within the wider community to discuss the plans and developments of the scheme. Most residents of Wardington will have received a further letter from Cherwell Council planning department about amendments to the application for a new service station on the A361 at J11 of the M40. The letter states that the layout of the buildings has been altered and the previously proposed hotel removed. HS2 proposed mitigation measures on A361 affecting Wardington The link below is the Wardington Parish Council's response to OCC Highways, in respect to the HS2 proposed mitigating measures to the A361. This was also sent to HS2 In summary the HS2 proposals cover:- Carriageway widening to three bends through the village. Changes/movement to speed limit signs with vehicle activated signs on entrance to village, with various road markings. Installation of a puffin crossing for the bus stop, (unlikely to be approved by OCC). Additional chevron signing at the bottom of Williamscot Hill. HS2 Action Group – House of Lords Select Committee Hearing

HS2 ACTION GROUP House of Lords Select Committing Hearing - July 20th 2016 Location:12:25pm, Houses of Parliament. Present: Committee:, Charles Holbech ,Malcolm Patterson,  Bob Jarrett . The hearing began with Charles Holbech giving a summary of the petition: There would be 1,000 HS2 HGVs and 204 LGVs through Wardington daily. That represented two per minute in a 10 hour period, and this would seriously affect the quality of life in Wardington.  He outlined that the volume of HGVs using the A361 is to carry spoil from Greatworth and Turweston, for use at Lower Boddington, a distance of 27 miles.
