HS2 / Fusion update to road works

HS2 / Fusion update to the A361 road works through Wardington. Widening 1 ( adjacent to Old Bonhams) is now complete – Temporary barriers were removed in error last weekend and are now back up. Fusion will be reviewing the embankment slope with their design team and Oxfordshire Highways in the coming weeks. This may not be a quick review due to Covid 19, as inspection of the works may not be deemed by others as a priority. Widening 2 (Wardington House) Phase 2 - rear access to Wardington House nursing home and to Tuthill Business Park will restart once the Covid 19 social distancing measures are relaxed. Pedestrian Crossing - under review and may start after Easter once Fusion

Spot the Easter Egg!

Please help to keep kids occupied on their walks round the village by putting a picture or model of an egg in a window or somewhere outside your house. Obviously we can’t have a proper Easter egg hunt, so nothing that will be picked up, please. There are two eggs hanging in the windows of Tite Cottage for starters.

Wardington neighbourhood groups

With the overall aim of keeping everyone in the village in touch with each other at this difficult time and providing assistance to each other if or when required, the village has been divided up into twenty-one separate groups of houses with a contact person for each group. At the end of this post there are four maps showing all the house groups both numbered and colour coded. Also there is a list of all the group contacts. Hilary Patterson is the Central Co-ordinator and her contact details are shown at the top of the list Each group contact has a supply of this self-explanatory flyer . Hello everyone, An update on church services: The Church of England has confirmed that public worship is to stop for the time being. Our usual pattern of Sunday services and other mid-week gatherings must be put on hold. There will be changes to the way we can gather as church. We will seek to make the buildings accessible for prayer and reflection. There will be arrangements for weddings and funerals. For those who would find it helpful, we will provide prayer and reflection resources that can be used at home. We will investigate other ways of sharing times of worship. There is an invitation for this Sunday, which is Mothering Sunday, to make this a moment of coming together. We

HS2/Fusion Drop-in cancelled After careful consideration, taking into account government advice, the bi-weekly drop-in events at The Hare and Hounds in Wardington have been cancelled until further notice. Note: The drop-in scheduled for Wednesday, 18th March 2020 is cancelled. Call My Wine Bluff is cancelled

A361 – Chipping Warden road closure 28 Feb – 1 Mar cancelled

A361 - Chipping Warden road closure 28 Feb - 1 Mar cancelled HS2 have advised us that, Fusion were planning to close the A361 in Chipping Warden for this weekend to carry out some works.
