Elf at Wardington Village Cinema this Friday 18th December – Doors open earlier than usual at 6.45pm

This is a reminder that we are screening Elf at Wardington Village Cinema this coming Friday (18th December). Please do join us for this wonderful festive family film for all ages, please note the earlier than usual start time (doors open 6.45 pm for a 7.30 pm) which it is hoped will encourage younger villagers to attend. Mulled wine and Mince Pies will be served prior to the start of the film, included in the ticket price of £7.50 (£5.50 concessions). Christmas bin collections and opening hours

Residents are being advised of changes to Cherwell District Council’s bin collections and opening times over the festive period. Only bins due to be emptied on a Friday will be affected by the Christmas break, with those due to be emptied on Friday, 25 December (Christmas Day) taking place four days earlier on Monday, 21 December. The following week, collections due on Friday, 1 January (New Year’s Day) will also take place four days earlier on Monday, 28 December. All other collections will take place as normal. Elderly Targeted by Fake Police Officers

There has been a recent series of incidents whereby fraudsters either phone or attend the home address of elderly members of the public, claiming to be police officers. The fake officer/s will claim that they are investigating a fraud which they believe the elderly person to be a victim of. The fake officer/s will then request the bank cards and personal identification numbers (PIN) of the victim and claim these are needed for investigation purposes. If the first contact was made by a phone call, the fake officer/s will tell the victim that someone will be over to collect the evidence.
