Following the shock announcement of the closure of the Stagecoach 200 Service, the Parish Council has been in discussion with ABILITY and other Parish Councils between Banbury and Daventry. Community archaeology events in Chipping Warden Communication from Fusion working on behalf of HS2 Following on from the successful TV programme Digging for Britain programme which featured Blackgrounds we have arranged local community events so you can come and talk to the archaeologists, see some of the artefacts (for the first time on public display) and discover what life was like in the area 2,000 years ago. The events will take place at Chipping Warden Village Hall on the 18 and 19 February 2022.  Tickets are free, but you must book a time slot to enter the museum. Carols on the Green, Wed 22nd Dec at 6pm

This year's Carols on the Green will go ahead as planned at 6pm on Wednesday 22nd December on the green in Upper Wardington. We will be accompanied by the Wardington Hand Bell Ringers as usual. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served. Please be respectful of other people's space. Nobody wants to catch Covid at Christmas so please take a lateral flow test on the day so that we can all enjoy singing carols together without worrying. We will be collecting for the Friends of St Mary Magdalene - please bring some cash and give generously. The following is a summary of key points raised and action that can be taken. In response to a call in 2020 from Cherwell District Council (CDC) for land for development in the new Local Plan, a landowner in Wardington offered 2 areas. 4.6 hectares off The Greensward for 20 houses 10.8 hectares round Judges on the other side of the A361 for 5 houses The meeting was told that land offered as Change of Use, once accepted, was subject to CDC requirements of between 20 and 30 houses per hectare.
