Calling all folk singers, guitarists, fiddlers and enthusiasts! The Hare and Hounds is pleased to host a monthly 'Folk Sessions' night, open to all. Call My Wine Bluff on Saturday 26th March 2022

Curry & Quiz success!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Curry & Quiz evening last night. Over 60 people came and enjoyed a variety of curries, cooked by volunteers from across the village, washed down with plenty of beer and wine. The quiz was expertly run by Helen Young, ably assisted by husband Sam, with questions spanning multiple subjects and time periods. The winning team were presented with six bottles of wine thanks to the Friends of St Mary Magdalene. Chair of the Friends of St Mary Magdalene, Steve Mackenzie-Lawrie, made an appeal for new volunteers and committee members to join. Please contact Steve at steve.mlawrie@btinternet.com.

Carols on the Green, Wed 22nd Dec at 6pm

This year's Carols on the Green will go ahead as planned at 6pm on Wednesday 22nd December on the green in Upper Wardington. We will be accompanied by the Wardington Hand Bell Ringers as usual. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served. Please be respectful of other people's space. Nobody wants to catch Covid at Christmas so please take a lateral flow test on the day so that we can all enjoy singing carols together without worrying. We will be collecting for the Friends of St Mary Magdalene - please bring some cash and give generously. The mulled wine and mince pies are free, however we greatly appreciate a donation of at least £1.50 each. The event will last

Denise Stear – Wing walking for Katharine House Hospice

On the 1st of October I will be wing walking for Katharine House Hospice - Banbury because it provides support to patients and their families. When I first heard about wing walking I had a moment of madness where I thought 'I could do that'! My family were incredulous...I can't even go on waltzers at the fair.  Katherine House provides tremendous support to patients and their families. In the last few years I have experienced serious illness myself. I know the power of the support that was given to me by my wonderful friends and family and the professionals who worked hard to get me back to health.  I know I'll be terrified, but I hope exhilarated too. Call My Wine Bluff is cancelled
