Friday night at the movies!!!

Wardington Village cinema are screening the '100 Foot Journey' this Friday evening in the Memorial Hall.  Doors open 7.30pm, film commences at 8pm. The Kadam family leaves India for France where they open a restaurant directly across the road from Madame Mallory's Michelin-starred eatery - comedy starring Helen Mirren, Om Puri and Manesh Dayal. Tickets can be purchased on the door.  Standard: £6.00/concessions £4:00 (price includes a complimentary ice cream).

Minutes of the Meeting of Wardington Parish Council held on Tuesday 24th March 2015 at 7.30pm in Wardington Memorial Hall In Attendance:  Mr G Page (Chair), Mr K Atack (District Councillor), Mr N Bankes, Mr R Fenemore, Mr G Martin, Mrs A Pascoe, Mr M Patterson, Mr M Hickman (Clerk) Visitors: Mr Nigel Gellatly (Chairman of Chipping Warden & Edgecote Parish Council),       Mr Ian Thompson (Parishioner)   Apologies: Mr J Murray Minutes of the Previous Meeting (February 17th): Agreed and signed New business: HS2 Mr Nigel Gellatly spoke to the council about the HS2 bill. He reported that during HS2 construction it is estimated that there will be up to 1300 large goods vehicles travelling daily on the A361 through Wardington to the HS2

Thames Valley Police

Burglary – The Greensward, Wardington. Saturday 21st March at 9.15pm. Three males have forced entry to a home. They were seen by a neighbour making off in a vehicle. Please alert neighbours and remain extra vigilant, If you saw anything suspicious in the area or have any information please telephone Banbury Rural Police Team on 101 with information or 999 for immediate police attention Alternatively if you have information that could help us but wish to remain anonymous, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Friday night is film night at the Memorial Hall!!!

As published in the Warbler - the next film night is taking place this Friday (20th) in the memorial hall.  'What we did on our holiday' is a heart-warming, uplifting comedy for all the family written and directed by the creators of 'Outnumbered' and starring David Tennant, Rosamund Pike and Billy Connelly. News on fibre broadband

For those interested, I have information from BT about faster broadband. The timescale for Wardington is still showing "by December 2015". We will be getting up to 80Mbps if you are close to the cabinet, but can expect 40Mbps if you are down by the Hare and Hounds. All houses that already have broadband will be able to switch. You won't get a speed increase automatically, you will have to request it when it becomes available. If you have an old ASDL modem then you may need a new one. An engineer may have to visit your house to change the "plate" on your telephone box. The more technical description from BT of what we are getting is: BT is

Wardington Village Cinema – next screening Friday 20th February

For your diary!!  The next film night is to take place of Friday 20th February in the Memorial Hall where we will be screening the hilarious British comedy........... "What we did on our holiday" staring Rosamund Pike, David Tennant and Billy Connolly. Doors open 7.30pm with the film to commence promptly at 8.00pm.  Concessions £4.00/Standard £6.00.  The ticket price includes a complimentary ice cream in the interval.  We will also be holding a raffle.  All surplus will go towards improving the Memorial Hall facilities.
