Minutes of the Wardington Parish Council Meeting   Location:  Wardington Memorial Hall Date: Tuesday, 24th November, 2015 (7:30pm) In Attendance: Mr G Page (Chair), Mr N Bankes (Vice-Chair), Mr I Franklin, Mr G Martin, Mrs A Pasco, Mr M Patterson, Mr K Atack (District Councillor), Mr B Jarrett (Clerk) Apologies: Mr Atack said that he had to leave the meeting early to attend another meeting. This resulted in a sequence change to the agenda. Village Responses from the HS2 Update Meeting

Thank you to everyone that sent in responses to the questions put forward by the parish council regarding the specific effects of HS2 construction HGV traffic on individuals, homes and businesses etc. I could not reply to you all but I have collated all the responses I received to produce a document that runs 20 pages and 10,000 words long! The HS2 Action Group will use this to assist them in drafting a parliamentary petition this week. Your responses are a great help and hopefully the Action Group can work many of your concerns into the debate. The petiton will be delivered to parliament on August 12th. Stay tuned.

Summary of the HS2 Update Meeting led by Wardington Parish Council held on Thursday July 23rd 2015 at 7.00pm in Wardington Memorial Hall In Attendance:   Mr G Page (Chair), Mr N Bankes (Vice-Chair), Mr M Patterson, Mrs A Pascoe, Mr G Martin, Mr K Atack (District Councillor), Mr M Hickman (Clerk) Visitors: Victoria Prentis (MP for Banbury), Stephanie Garnett (Senior Parliamentary Assistant to Victoria Prentis), Mark Kemp (Deputy Director Commercial OCC), Charles Holbech (Wardington HS2 Action Group) Parishioners: Approximately SIXTY   1. Sufficient cause for presenting a Parliamentary Petition has been confirmed by our solicitors. Matters arising from previous meetings 1.1 HS2 The council met with MP Victoria Prentis on June 12th at Wardington Manor. Thank you to Bridget and Forbes Elworthy for hosting the occasion. Victoria Prentis agreed with concerns about HGV traffic and is keen to work to find a solution. She has since undertaken to arrange for representatives from HS2

Notes on meeting with Victoria Prentis MP on 12th June 2015

Members of the Parish Council and the Parish Clerk met Victoria Prentis at Wardington Manor together with George Reynolds Oxfordshire County Councillor, Mike Kerford Byrnes Cherwell District Councillor and Ken Atack, Cherwell District Councillor. Forbes and Bridget Elworthy and Charles Holbech were in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was to acquaint Victoria Prentis and the Oxfordshire and Cherwell Councillors of the problems both in Wardington village and the surrounding villages that the volume of construction traffic associated with the building of HS2 would cause. The forecast of HGV traffic previously presented at the village meeting and a highlighted map showing likely rat runs were tabled as evidence of this problem.
